Landing Procedures Demonstrate that you can safely and efficiently land the RPA in the designated takeoff and landing area. A heli-pad like the one shown in the picture here will mark your designated landing zone. comply with all arrival clearances and instruction if the flight review is conducted an Controlled Airspace use an organized and efficient procedure to land complete appropriate checklists note landing time secure the RPAS How to Prepare Have a pre-flight checklist prepared for your RPA and equipment this should include: bringing the RPA towards the landing site in a controlled manner verify the safety of the landing location (make sure it's clear of people/objects) alert crew that you are landing land the aircraft in a controlled manner within a few feet or less of the designated area verbally note landing time following appropriate procedure/checklists to shut down and secure the aircraft after landing What to Do/What not to Do fly your RPA in a controlled and organized manner verify the landing area is safe/clear communicate with crew your intentions don't dramatically overshoot the landing area landing 10+ feet away is considered a missed landing and could result in failure don't endanger persons
