Flight Review Briefing The flight reviewer will give you a briefing about the following items which you will have to demonstrate during your review. You don't need to memorize this sequence, the flight reviewer will describe what is required from you as you go. Please note that all required flight review items must be completed with a minimum pass mark. The ground flight review items will be assessed before the flight portion. The Review will likely follow the following format: pre - flight planning procedures emergency procedures takeoff procedures manual flight procedures lost link procedures fly away procedures landing procedures post flight debrief flight reviewer will submit results to Transport Canada When in doubt, ask! Feel free to ask the reviewer if something is unclear to you, they are there to help you not to trick you. But remember you are the pilot in command, it will not be the flight reviewer. However in the interest of safety the flight reviewer may notify you if any action is required during the review. We understand that on top of regular work related stress there is the added pressure of doing well on the exam, as flight reviewers we take this into account and mark you purely on you flying skills, organization, and safety. Emergency Situations As the pilot in command you are responsible for any required action in an emergency situation, you will need to provide a briefing to the flight reviewer on what actions you will take in an event of an actual emergency. The flight reviewer may question or supplement the briefing as well as notify you if you are missing any information. Simulating an Emergency Unless there is an actual emergency the emergency situation will be simulated. In most situations, it will be a verbal description of the emergency situation like a scenario of a vertical or lateral fly away or lost link. This will take place either once the aircraft has landed or during flight. Unless there is an actual emergency you will no have to take any physical measures. Ground References Intended touchdown and take off zones will be identified by the flight reviewer prior to takeoff, the flight reviewer may also specify simulated surfaces conditions/obstacles.
