Lost Link Unless there is an actual loss of link emergency this will be a simulated emergency asking for you to verbally describe your actions. During your flight the flight reviewer will verbally tell you have experienced a "Lost Link" You will then have to brief the reviewer on how you will handle this situation. Produce a clear checklist for what you will do if you lose communication link with you RPA, be sure to think of the following: maintain line of sight and verbal communication with pilot warn all person(s) involved of the situation activating the failsafe (return to home) and monitoring the failsafe is performing properly attempting to regain communication (e.g moving towards the RPA, adjusting antenna, verifying charge) proceed to lower altitude and attempt visual landing at designated emergency landing zone preparing for other scenarios (e.g power cutoff and fly away procedures) preparing for landing Lateral Fly Away Unless there is an actual lost link emergency, this wall be a simulated emergency asking for you to verbally describe your actions. During your flight the reviewer will inform you that you are experiencing a "Fly Away" the reviewer will inform you of the type and direction of the fly-away. You will then be required to brief the reviewer on how you will handle this situation. Produce a clear checklist for what you will do if you lose control of you RPA and it starts to fly in a horizontal direction, be sure to think of the following: maintain line of sight and verbal communication with pilot, note which direction is it heading warn all person(s) involved of the situation keep visual contact with it for as long as possible steps to try and regain control (check system, connection, activate failsafe) contact the appropriate authority in this case the nearest airport in the path of the RPA note the location, RPA description, heading, altitude, speed, endurance preparing for other options (cutting power, emergency landing) Vertical Fly Away Unless there is an actual loss of link emergency this will be a simulated emergency asking for you to verbally describe your actions. Your flight the reviewer will inform you that you are experiencing a "Fly Away" the reviewer will inform you of the type and direction of the fly-away. Produce a clear checklist for what you will do if you lose control of your RPA and it starts to fly in a vertical direction, try and include the following: maintain line of sight and verbal communication with pilot, note which direction is it heading warn all person(s) involved of the situation keep visual contact with it for as long as possible steps to try and regain control (check system, connection, activate failsafe) contact the appropriate authority in this case the ACC shift manager; notify them of the location, RPA description, heading, altitude, speed, endurance preparing for other options (cutting power, emergency landing)
